Misunderstanding:
- When your authorities misunderstand you it is not all that bad. Just learn from that experience and carry on in devotional service.
- Our motto should be, “I seek not to be understood, but the understand”.
Fault finding:
- Fault finding is maya’s very vicious weapon to divert you attention from what you have to do in life, and that is to clean up our own hearts. Physician heal thyself.
- Finding faults is sense gratification.
- To see faults in others contaminates your heart.
- A person who finds faults in others is a person full of faults.
- If a person is criticizing a Vaishnava, then that is the sign that Krishna has withdrawn. His mercy and that is the means by which Krishna withdraws. His mercy.
Offences:
- Do not offend devotees or even non-devotees, because all those whom we know as devotees today were once not devotees.
- We would rather lose everything in life than commit an offence to devotees.
- Before we commit offenses to devotees the stage comes, in which we feel ourselves better than other devotees.
- Offenses take away your service. The worst is that it takes away our propensity to serve.
Important instructions:
- Two things are very important :- A very mature and honest understanding of the dangers and sufferings of material existence and faith that the holy name of God has descended to give us supreme shelter.
To the Degree:
- The joy of bhakti is experienced to the degree we are selfess in our efforts.
- To the degree we expect respect, only to that degree we will be quarrelsome.
- To the degree we went to serve, to that degree, gradually, according to our sincerity we eliminate all suffering.
- To the degree we are selflessly serving for the satisfaction of Krishna, with no expectation of anything in return, that is love. To the degree we have expectation from anyone, for anything, for myself, that is lust.
- To the degree we ard happy to see others getting Krishna’s blessing, Krishna will be inclined to bestow His blessings upon us.
- To praise a devotee is better than blaspheming him. To the degree you take pleasure in praising others, to that degree you will get Krishna’s mercy…. may be more mercy than you do yourself.
- To the degree we don’t want to hear and chant, to that degree we NEED them desperately.
- To the degree we consider ouselves as instruments in the hands of the previous acaryas, to that extent, we facilitate to flow of mercy.
- And to the degree we feel we are the doers, we restrict the flow of the mercy of the previous acaryas.
Analogies:
- Soul is like the moon. All the situations in our lives, relationships, youth etc, are like the clouds. Time is like the mind. Just like the wind moves the clouds, time moves all the situations in our life. But the soul is always the same. So we should focus on the eternal soul and not on the temporary situations. One who focuses on the soul is a moon like person.
- Gaur Purnima is the greatest of holy days. It is the Deity in the from of day.
- Krishnadas Kaviraj Goswami was blind due to old age but people with 20-20 vision were coming to him to get vision. This was because he saw reality, whereas we see illusion.
- Just as Lord Varahadeva went to a filthy place to rescue mother earth. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu entered into the filthy kaliyaga to rescue the fallen souls of this age.
- Vritrasura was a monster created by Indra’s own neglect. Everyday we are creating our own Vritrasuras due to neglect, mistakes and offences. It is not may be or if. It is sure. This whole world is nothing but creating Vritrasuras.
- A sailor Knows in which direction he is going by seeing the North Star. The North Star for a Gaudiya Vaisnava is….na dhanam na janam na sundarim….
- Pure water means you don’t put love rather you take all the dirt out of your heart. Then you experience pure love of God.
